No weaving experience is needed to learn the essential techniques of tapestry weaving. During this class with Michelle Follett, you will experience the entire process of weaving a tapestry, including learning basic weaving terminology. After learning to dress a tapestry loom, you’ll then explore weaving basic shapes and angles, and discover the role a cartoon plays in weaving curves. Beyond-beginners wanting a skill refresher will benefit, too. Students begin by attending an all-day class, and then continue learning during studio time, committing at least two hours each week for up to 7 additional weeks, to accommodate busy schedules and varying learning styles. All inclusive fee of $175.00 per participant covers equipment, accessories and fibers, and a maximum of 6 participants enables an instructor-attentive experience for new learners. Five subsequent 2-hour lessons are accommodated by studio time during which you are taught the principle techniques of tapestry weaving, and given ample time for practice.
