Introduction to Tapestry Weaving - 4 Sundays

No weaving experience is needed to learn the essential techniques of tapestry weaving. During this 4-session class with Michelle Follett, you will experience the entire process of weaving a tapestry, including learning basic weaving terminology. After learning to dress a tapestry loom, you’ll then explore weaving basic shapes and angles, and discover the role a cartoon plays in weaving curves. Beyond-beginners wanting a skill refresher will benefit, too. All inclusive fee of $175.00 per participant covers equipment, accessories and fibers, and a maximum of 6 participants enables an instructor-attentive experience for new learners. Registration required. Bring snack/sack lunch each week. Class held four consecutive Sundays starting December 8, 2019 (12/8, 12/15, 12/22 and 12/29).

The class starts with an all-day session during which you will learn tapestry weaving terminology, and dress a continuous-warp tapestry loom. Five subsequent 2-hour lessons are accommodated by studio time during which you are taught the principle techniques of tapestry weaving, and given ample time for practice. Beyond-beginners wanting a skill refresher will benefit, too. All inclusive fee of $175.00 per participant covers equipment, accessories and fibers. Registration required.
